Purpose

Extra Wings isn’t just about planes—it’s about people. It’s about the mother in a remote mountain community who receives her newborn’s first vaccines on board one of our flights. It’s about the relief worker who reaches an island cut off by storm surge, carrying solar panels and food. It’s about the promise that no community is ever truly “out of reach.”

Challenge

Imagine that a single flight can change everything, where a turbine-powered aircraft lifts off from a sun-baked runway in Florida and lands at a flood-stricken U.S. city, delivering life-saving medicine, clean water, and hope. At Extra Wings, we’re committed to making that vision a reality.

Future

From our first Comp Air CA6.2 turbine build to a growing fleet of humanitarian turboprops, every project begins with one thing: you.
Your support fuels the design, engineering, and customization of U.S.-made aircraft outfitted for cargo, medevac, and float operations. With every dollar you give, engineers bolt on specialized medevac supplies, mechanics, install reinforced cargo floors, and pilots prepare for the critical missions ahead.

Join us on this journey. Scroll down to discover our story, explore our goals, and—if you’re inspired—make a gift that will carry hope on wings of steel. Together, let’s lift up the world—one flight at a time.
1. Fueling the Mission
What Happens: We launch our fundraising campaign, sharing stories of communities in need and inviting donors to power our first aircraft build.
Why It Matters: Every dollar brings us closer to liftoff.
2. Vision to Order
What Happens: Once we hit 25% of our $1.35 M goal, we place the order for our first Comp Air CA6.2 turbine airframe.
Why It Matters: Securing the aircraft frame is the pivotal step from concept to reality.
3. Custom Build & Outfitting
What Happens: U.S. engineers install reinforced cargo floors, medevac stretchers, avionics, and optional float gear.
Why It Matters: Tailoring the aircraft for real-world relief missions ensures maximum effectiveness.
4. Rigorous Testing
What Happens: Ground-run inspections, flight-control checks, and safety certifications guarantee mission-ready performance.
Why It Matters: We deliver not just an aircraft, but a reliable lifeline.
5. Donation & Deployment
What Happens: We formally hand over the finished aircraft to a vetted 501(c)(3) partner, chosen by our Board and open to donor suggestions.
Why It Matters: Our mission culminates in empowering another charity to conduct life-saving aid flights.
6. Growing the Fleet & Impact
What Happens: As Extra Wings expands, we may retain our own aircraft to run direct relief missions—and continue donating additional planes.
Why It Matters: Scaling our operations multiplies the lives we can touch.
